What it is: an industrial instant-quoting manufacturer (xometry.com). You upload, its engine proposes a process and material, and you customize from there. It is built for production and prototype parts at scale.

Fit for the squeezer: workable, with a check. Xometry's instant quote covers FDM among many processes, so confirm FDM PETG is offered for your part. Its catalogue leans toward engineering materials (such as ULTEM and nylon) and other processes (SLS, SLA, metal), so do not let it steer you to a non-PETG default for a juice tool.

Before you start: have lemon_squeezer.stl ready; set up an account; decide FDM and PETG.

The exact steps

  1. Go to xometry.com and open the Instant Quoting Engine, then sign in.
  2. From your dashboard, drag and drop lemon_squeezer.stl to get instant pricing and lead times.
  3. The engine starts with a recommended process and material. Open the configuration and set the process to FDM and the material to PETG; the price and lead time update as you change them.
  4. Set the quantity, finish, and any options. Use Edit Specifications to refine if needed.
  5. Review the quote, choose shipping (prefer a domestic option), and check out.
  6. When it arrives, run the arrival inspection checklist, then finish it (Chapter 14) and run the five tests (Chapter 15).

What is different about Xometry: a fast, configurable quoting engine that updates live as you change the process and material, strong for industrial work. For a single PETG squeezer it is more machine than you need, but it works once you steer it to FDM PETG.

Time and cost: the engine shows the lead time and price immediately and updates with each option; FDM parts often quote production in a few days. Pricing favors larger orders, so check the single-part quote before committing.
